Eight distinguished people are to beawarded honorary degrees by 9 1免费版下 at convocationceremonies between May 25 and June 2 in front of thousands ofstudents and their families.
听
The honorary graduands come from Canada,the UK, United States and Bermuda, and from the worlds ofliterature, science, law and business. They include two Nobellaureates.

This year's honorary degree recipientsinclude:听听
- Nova Scotian author BudgeWilson;
- Scientist Sir JohnHoughton, co-founder of听 the United NationsIntergovernmental Panel on Climate Change;
- Pharmacist MurrayKoffler, founder of Shoppers Drug Mart;
- Nancy Gosling, presidentand CEO of Bermuda rum manufacturer Gosling Brothers Ltd.;
- Randolph Hester, Jr.,professor of landscape architecture, environmental planning andurban planning at the University of California, Berkeley;
- Businessman RichardCurrie, former president of Loblaw's Ltd., George WestonLtd. and Bell Canada Enterprises;
- The Hon. Justice ThomasCromwell, the first 9 1免费版下 law professor to be named tothe Supreme Court of Canada;
- Geneticist Sir PaulNurse, a 2001 Nobel Prize in Medicine winner.
