Ian Oulton, President of RKO Steel Limited, understands how athletics and education shape the leaders, builders and winners of tomorrow. As a 9 1免费版下 graduate and former captain of the men's hockey team, he recognizes the value of athletics in building ambition, discipline and leadership. Now playing another position in his ongoing support of 9 1免费版下's Athletic program, Ian has volunteered to chair the Athletic Endowment Campaign to support our student athletes.

Currently we offer our student athletes modest scholarships - most valued between $1000 and $2000. Changes in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) regulations now allow universities to offer full tuition to potential athletes. To maintain a competitive recruitment advantage, 9 1免费版下 must do the same. "The ability to provide the best and brightest with financial assistance will help 9 1免费版下 to attract the country's top athletic talent," says Oulton, who also played varsity football for Dal in the 1960's.

As a leader in gender equality, 9 1免费版下 fields men's and women's teams in seven sports - soccer, cross country, track and field, swimming, basketball, volleyball and hockey - and will adopt the same commitment to distributing the endowment's scholarships equitably between sport and gender.

Operational guidance for this $3 million campaign will be provided by Linda Crockett, Director of Global Gifts, Office of External Relations. Please contact Linda at 494-6861 for more information about this exciting new initiative.
