An Evaluation of Insoluable Residues as a Correlation Tool in the George River Limestone.
(PDF -听 1.9 Mb)
Three aspects of the use of insoluable residues as a tool in correlating units within the Limestone member of the Geprge River Series are evaluated:
- correlation on the basis of residue percentages,
- the validity of comparing metamorphic mineral suites, and,
- the feasibility of effecting a mineralogic separation of the residue.
It is concluded that, although all three aspects may later be of use, not enough work has been done to prove these methods effective.
