We are pleased to highlight resources related to ergonomics that can help you with your at-home work set up or your on-campus one. 聽
Here are the week鈥檚 "ergo-nuggets" all in one spot:
- Dal's ergonomic helps you determine how your work station measures up. Assess your posture, chair, monitor, keyboard, and even lighting considerations.
- Join a live "" session presented by Dal Occupational Therapy students, available multiple times this week. Get some tips and ask some questions.
- Register for Thursday's live session by the Dal Physioclinic on ".&辩耻辞迟;听
- Explore a demonstrating some of the specific aspects of what we used to call "office ergonomics," which really means all the computer work we find ourselves doing now.聽 Check out the Dal Tiger figuring it all out.
- Learn some to overcome sitting at a computer all day.
- Have your own virtual ergonomic assessment.聽 Email Lori.Lamrock@dal.ca in Environmental Health and Safety and be paired with an Occupational Therapy student who will remotely help determine how good your ergonomic set up is and give you some pointers on making the most of your current arrangement.
- Consider these for adults aged 18-64 years of age. Review how much you exercise, sit and, yes, sleep.
- For those who want to deepen their learning about ergonomics, the College of Continuing Education offers an online course and here are the steps to access it.
- Proceed to the聽9 1免费版下 College of Continuing Education website.
- Scroll down to "Ergonomics 2020/2021" and click on the yellow 'Login into SharePoint' icon.
- At this point you will see a registration document. Print this and follow the directions completely.
- You will receive an e-mail from the College of Continuing Education within three business days that you have been added to the Brightspace Ergonomics course. You can then begin your training.
- Once you have passed the final quiz, you will receive a Letter of Completion via e-mail within three business days.
- Build with this series of at-home exercises.
- Connect with the right resources if you have an injury or need specialized ergonomic supports. In the event that specialized equipment has been recommended by your treatment provider, there is a requirement to arrange a formal ergonomic assessment carried out by a licenced Occupational Therapist. The Accessible Employment unit of HR manages the process of arranging for a 3rd party Occupational Therapist to perform a formal ergonomic assessment for you.
