The Visiting Speakers Program at the Faculty of Agriculture aims to build and support a robust and dynamic research culture across the campus. The program will offer scholarly research seminars and will provide our faculty, staff, students and research associates an opportunity to engage with world class scientists. This initiative aligns with one of the major intents of the Faculty Strategic Research Plan: to “Build a Community of Scholarship”.

Dr. Joshi currently hold the position of Science Foundation Ireland appointed Stokes Professor of GlycoSciences at National University of Ireland Galway, Ireland. His laboratory is developing technologies for high-throughput biomimic discovery and microarray based glycomics studies for clinical and industrial applications including infectious and chronic diseases and biopharmaceuticals.

Thomas Furey is the Marine Institute Co-Programme Manager for INFOMAR, the Irish national seabed mapping programme. A geophysicist by background, he manages the Advanced Mapping Services team and has a key role in the technology innovation and product development associated with INFOMAR and its vast data resources.
