July 29, 2024鈥(Ottawa) 鈥 Today the Stem Cell Network (SCN) is pleased to announce planned for SCN鈥檚 2025-2029 funding cycle.聽This new competition will support world-class, translational, regenerative medicine research, across the research continuum to facilitate health, social and economic benefits for Canadians.聽
The competition will officially open on鈥疶uesday, September 3, 2024,鈥痑nd offers 24- and 36-month awards.聽聽
Six regenerative medicine research programs are available that focus on innovation, clinical translation, policy and societal impact and commercialization.聽
- Accelerating Clinical Translation Awards (up to鈥$650,000): To support鈥痬ulti-disciplinary research that is moving towards the clinic within five years; or is addressing a key research question associated with an ongoing clinical trial.聽
- Clinical Trial Awards (up to鈥$1,100,000): To support early-stage clinical trial projects with high translational potential.聽
- Early Career Researcher Jump Start Awards (up to鈥$350,000): For early career researchers (within the first five years of an initial academic appointment) to develop a research program with a regenerative medicine focus.聽
- Fueling Biotechnology Partnerships Awards (up to鈥$430,000): To support academic partnerships with emerging Canadian regenerative medicine biotechnology companies to bring innovative technologies or therapies to the clinic or market.聽
- Impact Awards (up to鈥$270,000): To support proof-of-principle experiments, including novel therapeutic or technical approach development that will drive regenerative medicine therapies forward.聽
- Impact Awards: ELSI & HE Stream鈥(up to鈥$215,000): To support the knowledge generation and/or translation of regenerative medicine research for targeted stakeholders and/or users.聽
